Class description: Introduction to Pistol Mounted Optics is a class designed for people who want to learn the basics of shooting with a red dot sight (RDS).  Students will learn the correct way to use an RDS pistol through efficient marksmanship mechanics and a variety of dry and live fire drills to maximize their effectiveness with a pistol mounted optic.

Course Length: 8 hours

Skill Level: 

  • This class will require the shooter to have safe gun handling skills

  • You will need to follow instructions from the instructor

  • You need to have a basic understanding of your firearm and have used it during practice sessions

​

Gear List: 

  • Pistol with Optic Mounted on it with holster

  • Magazine pouch

  • 400 rounds of ammunition

  • Eye and ear protection

  • Proper outdoor clothing

  • Hat with a bill

  • Bring your own snacks and drinks

  • Hydration drinks

  • Finding the dot

  • Repeatable draws and reference techniques

  • Target focus

  • Proper moa selection

  • Proper brightness selection

  • Shooting with occluded optic

  • Wet optics and optic down drills

  • Optic maintenance
